Christmas Salvage Would Slow Down

You would think so, wouldn’t you? At a time when Wi Fits, mobile phones, laptops and iPods would rule the spending during the run up Christmas, you would have thought that those looking for salvage cars, would just wait until January or when the bills had been paid. But that has not been so. Credit crunch or none, the demand for salvage cars, still grows even during the build up Christmas.

It could be that the right cars have been released this month, or it could be that many buyers put the cars back on the road and make a profit. Or it could be that buying a salvage car is the only way to afford the type of car they are looking for. Whatever the reason, things did not slow down for the Christmas of 2008, so the expectations of 2009 are huge.

The only days the salvage auctions were closed were Christmas day through to Monday. As there would be no auctions on Sunday anyway, there were only 3 days lost. There were even salvage auctions still going on, during Christmas Eve. It is true that a repairable salvage project could also be a Christmas present; I know my son wanted an engine, to repair his second car.

If you are not yet in the repairable salvage market, you should at least to look to see what bargains there are available. It might not be for you, the time to work on these vehicles may be too extreme for you. If you rely on breakdown cover and garages even for the simplest repairs, then it clearly isn’t for you.

But of you like working on cars, then buying a repairable salvage project, might keep some of your money in your pocket.
